About me
My first experience of Reiki was over twenty years ago when I found myself drawn to try a free “taster treatment”. The treatment was so intensely emotional and physical that I set out to gain some understanding of what had happened. Since then, I have received Reiki through various practitioners, and although no two treatments have ever been the same in each of them I found indescribable comfort, peace and a sense of relief that I’ve not found anywhere else in life.
My love of Reiki
My love of Reiki was such that I initially completed the Level 1 attunement and training so that I could treat myself. As part of the Level 1 training, I was required to give Reiki to others; my feedback from family and friends was so overwhelming that I felt compelled to become a Level 2 practitioner.
Finding a Reiki Master
I was determined to find a Reiki Master who appreciated the integrity of undiluted Usui Reiki with a commitment to maintain its credibility and sanctity. The wonderful Reiki master who I chose is part of a prestigious Reiki lineage with a unique link back to Dr Mikao Usui which believes in honouring and safeguarding our special lineage and traditions. The steady path that I followed progressed gradually from Reiki 1 to Reiki 2 enabling me to savour and reflect throughout my journey and allow the energy to settle as many physical and spiritual changes evolved. The in-person attunements that I received honoured the ancient process for tuning the physical and etheric bodies to a higher vibratory level by opening a purified channel in the body for the energy to pass through.
Training and attunements
Many Reiki practitioners have not been fortunate enough to experience the same high quality of training or attunements as I have. Online Reiki courses, attunements and initiations cannot attune a person to the Reiki energy nor foster their understanding and appreciation of Reiki to the same extent. Likewise, some Reiki Masters now condense the Reiki Level 1 and 2 degrees and deliver these simultaneously. This is not widely considered an appropriate way to be taught or to receive attunements.
