About me

My experience of Reiki

My first experience of Reiki was a free taster treatment over twenty years ago. I’d been diagnosed with M.E. the previous year and was desperately trying anything and everything hoping to get some relief from the constant pain, sensory sensitivities, low grade fever and numerous other horrible symptoms. The Reiki treatment gave me such an intense emotional and physical relief that I set out to gain some understanding of what had happened. Since then, I have received Reiki through various practitioners, and although no two treatments have ever been the same in each of them I found indescribable comfort, peace and a sense of relief that I’ve not found anywhere else.

My love of Reiki

My love of Reiki was such that I completed the Level 1 attunement and training so that I could treat myself. As part of the training, I was required to give Reiki to others; my feedback from family and friends was so overwhelming that I felt compelled to become a Level 2 practitioner. My discovery that giving Reiki is one of my greatest pleasures in life helps too!

Finding a Reiki Master

The Reiki master who I trained with is from Mikao Usui’s prestigious lineage and believes in honouring and safeguarding this. The thorough path that I followed progressed steadily from Reiki 1 to Reiki 2. This enabled me to savour my journey and allow the energy to settle as many physical and spiritual changes evolved. The in-person attunements that I received honoured the ancient process for tuning the physical and etheric bodies to a higher vibratory level by opening a purified channel in the body for the energy to pass through.

My SOMA Breath journey

For a long time, life felt heavy, like I was moving through a fog that kept pulling me back, no matter how much I longed to move forward. Reiki gave me beautiful glimpses of light and connection; moments where I felt the magic of energy flowing and the possibility of something more.

Then I discovered something so simple, yet so powerful, it changed everything: my breath.

Through SOMA Breath, with its rhythm, music, and guided visualisations, I found a way not just to lift myself out of the heaviness, but to awaken a brighter, lighter version of myself I didn’t know was waiting. Whenever I notice myself slipping back into stress or worry now, I know I have the tools within me to return to balance. That’s the magic of SOMA Breath.

Add music and guided visualisations, and suddenly your breath isn’t just sustaining you, it’s uplifting you, expanding you, and revealing possibilities that were always there. Imagine the perfect soundtrack to your own journey, carrying you forward, and you’ll start to feel the essence of SOMA Breath.

What makes it so special is that the benefits ripple through every layer of life, calming the nervous system, boosting energy, improving focus and resilience while opening the door to deeper states of presence, connection, and spiritual awakening.

For me, it’s more than a practice, it’s a gateway to living with health, lightness, and freedom, while feeling deeply connected to something greater.

Reiki for children

Reiki can be very soothing and beneficial for children and adolescents. Reductions in fear and anxiety and a greater sense of calm, safety and general well-being are often reported. As with adults, Reiki can also develop feelings of confidence and safety and promote better sleep. I have over twenty five years’ experience of working with children as a mainstream and SEND teacher and have enhanced DBS status.

Your comfort is everything

I'm a sensitive and caring practitioner who puts your comfort first. Many factors can contribute to a positive treatment and so I encourage you to express any sensory preferences for music, scent and lighting. I'll ask if you'd prefer me to place my hands on or just above your body; some people are happy to receive hands on healing on their legs but may dislike having their face or feet touched.

Reiki and SOMA Breath for chronic conditions

I've lived with M.E. (also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) since 2000 and also have ADHD. These hidden and often misunderstood conditions give me an acute understanding of living with physical and sensory differences along with those related to neurodiversity. Reiki and SOMA Breath have given me such comfort and hope in the most trying times that it is my mission to help others who are experiencing similar challenges. My range of repeat clients include people who have mental health needs, are going through periods of intense emotional distress, and those who are struggling with the overwhelm that comes from living with neurodiversity.
