Reiki and Chakras
Reiki is a holistic practice that can open, balance and heal the chakras. Reiki and chakra balancing are each powerful by themselves: combining the two can lead to even more profound healing experiences. By integrating both approaches, practitioners tap into their synergistic effects and enhance the overall energetic balance and well-being of the individual.
I use Reiki energy to balance and activate the chakra centres in the body. Through the use of hand placements and symbols the healing energy is channelled directly into specific chakras, supporting their alignment and flow. This powerful approach to energy healing incorporates both the universal life force energy and the specific energy centres within the body. During a Reiki treatment with me I will work with each of your seven chakras, sensing and visualising energy flow to each.
Each chakra radiates a different colour and energy. You may even see one or more of the colours during your Reiki treatment. It is believed that each chakra relates to specific spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical aspects of our being. Subsequently, their blockages or imbalances can manifest in physical, psychological, and emotional ways.
Reiki is dedicated healing that uses universal energy to allow us to spiritually and mentally heal. Chakra is not a method of healing, but the energy points in our body itself. Although we can see significant improvement in our overall well-being with balanced chakras, it is not a healing method.
Reiki focusses on energy centres that allow life energy, Ki, to flow through the body. Traditional Japanese tradition calls these points tandens. Reiki practice originally focused primarily on the Seika tanden, which is in the lower abdomen below the navel. Reiki also focusses on two other tandens which are found in the upper chest and in the centre of the forehead.
Tandens and chakras appear to be different interpretations of a similar thing. Both are points that regulate energy flow. If they are blocked or unhealthy, energy cannot flow freely and illness and discomfort result.
The chakras originate from Hindu tradition but have also played an important part in Buddhism. Chakra is Sanskrit for “wheel”; chakras can be thought of as a swirling vortex of energy and light. It is believed that awakened Kundalini energy activates chakras as it flows through them. In some traditions, Kundalini awakening must be passed from master to student in a process similar to Reiki attunement. Such energy healing focusses on the seven major chakras. These seven chakras are the focal points for meridians, or energy lines, that run through the body. Minor chakras are smaller focal points where meridians cross.
